HS Speech & Debate at SWSDIT

Congratulations to the Prep’s Speech and Debate team for their performance at the South West Speech and Debate Institute Tournament at Mesquite High School, a competition that included over 800 competitors from 6 states. The tournament is the last opportunity for students to practice before the Division II State Championships. “ I am proud of the teams performance and I’m excited that we have momentum going into the State Championships to be held in two weeks in Tucson,” said Coach LeAnn Richards. Special congratulations are in order for Alex Haw who won the event championship in Programmed Oral Interpretation; this is his 4th event championship this year. Alex joined forces with Violet Helfrich and won the teams’ first event championship in Duet Acting. “ I am looking forward to see how they can match up with the very tough competition in this event at the State Championships,” added Coach Richards.
