Competition Percussion at Campo Verde Show

Competition Percussion had their first competition of the season this Saturday which took place at Campo Verde High School. The students had done a lot of work on their production, ‘Elasticity’ with the addition of trampolines and intense solos by Noah Stroupe and the members of the marimba section; Brandon Fenton, Matt Bodine, and Curtis Swick.

Due to complexity of the show, it is not finished yet and still under the required performance time, which landed North Pointe a penalty this weekend and gave them a 3rd place finish. Member of the group anticipated this, and were incredibly excited to find out that prior to the penalty received, they would have taken first place! Director Christopher Holtzem said, “The kids have been working extremely hard! This is a challenging program even by my standards and we were not expecting to be received so well right out of the gate. This is going to be a really awesome season.”

Judges are very excited to see the progression of this new and exciting show, saying that “It’s great to see another North Pointe show. You guys always bring something we’re not seeing and I can’t wait for another season of North Pointe.”

The group performs again this upcoming Friday night at Williamsfield High School.
